About image
For music that lives somewhere between beautiful and uncompromising

Tobin Jones is a producer, recording and mixing engineer based in Stroud, working out of Space in Time Studio, a music production facility housed in an 18th-century stone barn between Bath and Bristol, overlooking open green fields.

He works with artists who have something to say, people making music that comes from a real place, whether that's beautiful and immersive, abrasive and confrontational, or something that resists easy description.

For Tobin, a record is always an emotional and artistic act first. The conversations that matter most aren't about gear or technique; they're about what an artist is trying to express, what they want a listener to walk away feeling, and what the music means to them. Everything else follows from that.

He's at his best working with artists who are genuinely invested in their work — people who want a collaborator who'll get inside the idea with them, not just capture it cleanly.

Past credits include Powell, Bo Ningen, Not Waving and War Club, with work released on XL Recordings, Mute, Editions Mego, Diagonal, Transgressive, Fat Cat, Full Time Hobby and Stolen.
